How we guarantee the reliability of our hoses

Flexible hoses are an essential component of every plumbing and HVAC system.

Their function may seem simple, but it is actually crucial for the safety and efficiency of the entire installation.

At Luxor, we understand the technical challenges these components face every day.

That’s why we pay the utmost attention to their design, production and testing, ensuring that every flexible hose is reliable, durable and meets the highest safety and sealing standards.

Real tests for real reliability

The reliability of our flexible hoses for plumbing and HVAC systems is the result of rigorous technical testing carried out in our in-house laboratory.

Here, our products undergo specific tests to verify their strength, sealing performance and behaviour under extreme conditions.

Pressure tests: where reliability starts

One of the most important tests for evaluating the quality of a flexible hose is the pressure test.

We use specialised equipment to gradually increase the pressure inside the hose until it reaches its mechanical resistance limit.

This test determines the maximum pressure that the hose can withstand, as well as evaluating its sealing performance under overload conditions.

This means we can guarantee a substantial safety margin compared to real operating conditions in both residential and industrial environments.

Tensile and mechanical resistance tests

Tensile strength is another key parameter that affects reliability. Luxor flexible hoses are tested to:

  • determine the force required to cause elongation or breakage.
  •  simulate possible mechanical stress due to installation or accidental movement.
  •  ensure the integrity of the hose in any installation condition.

Comprehensive annual checks

Every year, we test our entire range of flexible hoses in accordance with the EN13618 standard to ensure consistent high performance over time.

Samples undergo accelerated ageing cycles, static overpressure tests and hammer tests. When required, they undergo more than 25,000 pressure cycles to assess durability.

Additional tests for quality beyond standards

Beyond the mandatory tests required by regulations, we also perform additional checks when needed.

Some of these are carried out in our own laboratories, while others are carried out by certified external labs.

Thermal cycling: heat, cold, and long-term sealing

Plumbing and HVAC systems are subjected to continuous temperature changes.

To simulate this, we run controlled thermal cycle tests involving the flow of hot and cold water through the hoses.

These tests reproduce the daily thermal stress experienced by the system and verify the stability of the long-term seal.

Corrosion and stress-corrosion: long-lasting protection

The materials used in our hoses are carefully chosen to ensure they remain durable over the long term, even in challenging or humid environments.

For this purpose, we perform:

  • Corrosion resistance tests to assess how metals behave when exposed to humidity or aggressive agents
  • Stress-corrosion tests, which simulate the combined effect of mechanical stress and chemical attack, one of the most common causes of premature damage.

A continuous commitment to quality

Luxor flexible hoses are reliable because they are the result of a fully integrated production chain. Every phase of the production process is subjected to rigorous and systematic controls, from design to testing.

We are constantly committed to providing companies and installers with solutions designed to last over time, even in the most demanding conditions.
